Blinkz in Ascot - The Fit in Ascot Mary Queen of Shops
One of my favourite programmes has come back to the tv and it couldnt have chosen a better time to start as the Apprentice has finished.
Mary Queen of Shops, this week had a woman who sold clothes for the larger lady in Ascot called Blinkz.
The woman was terrible & rude. Its was as if she thought everyone wanted to be thin like her and that was the normal body. It was cringing. Even Mary was cringing and I though she was going to deck her one!
In the end the woman took on board what Mary said and changed and finally said some nice things to these ladies. She even took Marys advice and changed the name of the shop from Blinkz to The Fit. The shop was done up beautifully and she started stocking Anna Scholz Clothing which went down really well with her new customers.

I made a special trip to Ascot last week to try on some of those fabulous Anna Scholz dresses. What a disappointment! The shop window looked like a charity shop window again, and I was almost completely ignored by the two sales assistants, as I hunted around looking for anything by the designer. I found lots of shapeless, greige sack dresses but only 3 items left on the one 'Anna' rack. When I eventually asked if that was all they had, one of the assistants barely turned towards me and said "That's it, we've sold everything else." Seeing my look of total incredulity, the other assistant piped up "We will get some more in the autumn, I suppose". No "Let's take your details and we'll let you know as soon as it's here! What are you looking for? Have you seen these other dresses we have? How about our gorgeous xxxxx?" I just walked out, and I won't bother going back. And neither will my 2 sisters-in-law, who both live locally and were intending to visit the shop themselves. The ladies clearly couldn't be bothered to sell me anything,although to be honest they'd have had quite a job, given the mostly dreary stock. Mary, hon, I'm sorry to say that you seem to have wasted your time!
