Ariel Burdett X Factor

What an entrance!!! Ariel marched into the studio, straight up the judges and ripped off her number shouting I am not a number I am Ariel.
Then she started shouting Im a Holistic Vocal Coach Im this Im that, Very very scary.
Cheryl was uneasy with her and said, could you stand on the X Please and Ariels face ....well I was scared just looking at her on the tv.
What a complete nutter and obvously didnt get through!
Is Ariel really like that or was that just to get on the best of the worse X Factor.

If Ariel really does has an academic qualification as a performer then what she did tonight is very clever and subversive. In short, she made the whole X Factor concept look ridiculous and nasty and has avenged all those people who have been publicly humiliated in a shameful way.
Whatever, we should see more of her - Ariel rocks!!!
Alex B
What a load of crap. "Ariel" was, and is, an idiot. There was nothing subversive about what she (it?) did. Yes, XFac is a poor concept, but "Ariel" avenged nothing; she simply showed herself as an academically inferior moron. Oh dear. "Ariel" needs to change her brand name and put herself through a fast spin cycle. Maybe then her mouth will become "clean".
She was amazing, I agree with anon, she really d id make fools out of them.
I think she was very, very nervous and tried to mask that by being very aggressive, and ended up making a bit of an arse of herself.
anonymous - what exactly does having "an academic qualification as a performer" mean? I can't ever remember being at a gig where I had to give the performers a mark on their live work. I'm sure it was really subversive for her to wait in those huge queues for hours and hours, and finally appear on telly for about thirty seconds just to make a tit of herself.
If she was in any way serious about music, she wouldn't craved the attention of those rubbish judges in the first place, and wouldn't have touched the show with a barge pole.
It's always the same on X Factor - the people who have an unshakeable faith in their own brilliance are always egotistical monstrosities with no talent who believe that just shouting about themselves makes them worth something. They tend to get nowhere.
The people with talent, who really work on their voices and measure themselves up against true talent, are always more unsure of themselves, because they've continually worked on what they do and know that there's always more they can do to make themselves better.
That said - I hate the kind of bland, warbly-voiced,technically great but utterly souless voices that invariably do well in these end-of-peir TV talent shows.
I have never fallen for a rock chic before, but the first comment that came to mind was....... "what a woman"!
That's how I ended up here, looking for more details on her on the web.
I got what she was doing, she put together a collection of various singing styles all performed at a very high standard, she is definatley some sort of professional, and I agree with Alex B, there had to be some sort of alteria motive to her appearance, maybe she even dressed that way to not get reconised? She came across very well rehearsed, but she must have some sort of other background as she had the whitest straightest teeth I have ever seen!
Would love to meet her!
Her real name is Amy. She's an absolute mentalist. I've known her for some time. Honestly, She thinks she's amazing- their comments will only make her think she's better than them! I'm so glad people can now understand how much of a k*** head she is!! YAY!!!
Very good voice, clever performance. Behaviour extreme, but displaying superior intelligence compared to the ppl at the other end of the table.
Ariel for President.
What, so you're saying that if they had said 'yes, you're brilliant', she wouldn't have snapped up the chance? I just cringed all the way through it, though it was low of simon cowell to make remarks about her personal appearance. I don't know why people who enjoy singing rock, metal etc go on the x-factor anyway, they want plastic POP singers.
And that was a terrible roar.
Sure, she couldn't sing and I would never pay to see her perform. However, something about that fiery "take me seriously or else" attitude was really appealing. I doubt she could be like that all the time but if I ever get a chance to meet her and find out - I will.
She really didn't make the concept look ridiculous (though it is) or avenge all the people who are so cruelly humiliated every week - she actually humilated herself. She wasn't being clever or subversive at all - she'd probably queued up for over 12hours to get in that room and though she had a really childish attitude problem from the start she was obviously upset that the judges didn't like her. It was brilliant in a car-crash TV kinda way as it was possibly the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen on TV and I feel so sorry for the poor girl. She's obviously very deluded but we shouldn't be too harsh on her as she may need some kind of professional help.
What an obnoxious moron. No one has told this Ariel thing, "you have no talent, you're a selfish obnoxious idiot with zero charisma, just go away and stop using up oxygen"
I had the misfortune to study on a college course for 4 years with the now named 'Ariel'. She was then and is now an utter numb-skull with NO musical knowledge or ability. This was completely predictable; it was only a matter of time before she publicly humiliated herself in this way.
The fact that she has a degree makes a total mockery of my qualification, and indeed the institution at which I studied.
Fact - Ariel went on to the show made a tit of herself, she wasnt fighting the system, she was trying to be a part of it! and since when have people ever listened to music where each line is a diff style, she has no idea
Worzel Gummidge wants his hair back, Ariel.
She made a fool out no one but herself. If she has such a prestigious degree and "doesn't need Simon Cowell's opinion", then why go on the show?
And if she truely is a "holistic vocal coach", then she's just done herself out of plenty of business by making herself look like a bit of a self-important cock.
The only client she could come up with some shit singer from a shit band. Great.
Nah, she IS just as arrogant in real life.. proper know-it-all!!! i know her, she's called AMY not ariel...
She's always name-dropping - saying she has worked with loads of famous people, its all bullshit!
In all honesty.. She isnt THAT BAD when it comes to singing but she really isnt anywhere near as good as she thinks she is!!! She's very condescending and patronising to other singers and musicians!! Not a good attitude!
She's gonna get SOOOO much stick in Leeds after people see this!! She deserves it though because she couldn't have acted any worse!! What a arrogant egotistical fool!
Priceless!
I can understand her contempt for the competition - but since she must have queued and waited for hours to audition, I think the joke's on her!
And - a degree in singing?! What sort of useless university gives out such qualifications?! She probably answered one of those spam emails that promise qualifications from unheard-of universities ...
I actually think she had a REALLY GOOD voice. But she was abit rude, I have to admit.
I thought her song was pretty awesome to be honest. Maybe if she had been slightly better tempered and sang a different song- one thats been published, then she should have got through.
As for the judges, they aren't very fair. They judge people on the way they look and their style more than their singing. She looked gothic, buts thats fine. Not everyone has to look like simon cowel or cheryl :|
I think her name is Amy, so I don't know why she wanted to call herself Ariel.
Looking under the name Amy Burdett, she has an honours degree in music. Which I think is a grade 8 in music which is the highest, I think. You have to do alot of work for a degree in music, however I am unsure if this information is correct.
To be honest if she did teach Tuck from Bullet for my valentine, then she wouldn't go to X-Factor to try and get a record deal. She would go directly to the record labels. So personally I believe her story is rubbish on that account.
Tbh, if you want to impress the judges you don't act like that, and you sing a song they will know and like. Not a composed piece you have written for your honours degree at University.
She showed herself up and personally after that performance I think she is insane. She can't sing, and she's rubbish.
Sorry if she did teach tuck from bfmv but after that performance, I would be embarrased to even know her.
Yes Ariel was rubbish and a bit of a twat. But "Rachel" although singing is not a degree in itself (aside from Grades and a Teaching Diploma): I am studying for a M.A. in musical theatre which I imagine is the kind of thing that Ariel is claiming to have obtained (unless she has a singing teaching Diploma - possibly more likely). Universities such as Surrey and Kings hand them out after the completion of a course in an acting school of some nature such as RADA or GSA.
I doubt she taught Matt Tuck if she's 25 and Matt's 28. Also, if she taught him, she's be succesful enough not to want to go on the X factor.
She obviously had talent, but for a seemingly intelligent person, she chose a particularly stupid way of bringing it to the judge's attention. She's got a bad attitude- okay, so the judges were wrong. Doesn't give her the right to be like that. She was rude, patronizing, condescending, unreasonable etc etc.
The x factor judges wouldn't have appreciated someone like that because they wouldn't have been able to teach a vocal coach anything. Having said that, I think Ariel should have thought of that, and tried to achieve fame some other way.
I liked her voice, didn't like her so much as a person.
Shes scary, she didnt want to be a number? but the 4 judges arent going to remember every auditionees name, or there number, so it doesnt matter, and she said about singing different styles for every line, but who does that.... no1, and Cheryls face through out it is funny :], wen she asks that Cheryl has never been a rock singer, i love Cheryls answer "no" :|, that was stupid, coz Cheryl is a pop singer, shes obviously never heard her music, idiot, and then wen she insulted them all at the end, and Simon sed, "bk at u" was so funny!! its x factor, u sing a SONG, shes deluded, crap and scary.
I did the same university course as 'Ariel', which was a BMus in Jazz and Contemporary Music, at Leeds College of Music - a music college with an enviable reputation. However, I am unsure whether she finished the course, and this is the degree course to which she is referring. I doubt very much that her former singing tutor or indeed any of the tutors there would endorse that performance. There was very little 'academic' about her audition. It was self-righteous, indulgent, and an insult to those who have taken the time and effort to work at their art. Having muddled through a degree does not give her the right to lord it over people, and use it as a justification for producing something utterly dreadful.
hahaha, i loved the bit at the end when she told them she was stupid,
how chidish can you get hahaha
I'm not sure why teaching Matt Tuck to sing would be any recommendation at all, let alone something that would assure her own success. He can't sing worth a sh*t!
I found her vocal lessons on this site! mwhahahaha

Ariel - I loved it!
