Burglars after Cheryl Cole's wedding rings

Thieves tried to break into Cheryl and Ashley Cole's mansion yesterday in a bid to steal the singer’s £150,000 sparkler and square cut diamond wedding ring worth £160,000

The attempted robbery was just hours after Cheryl was pictured without the ring flying to Los Angeles. Instead of her wedding ring Miss Cole has been wearing a large diamond fancy ring on her wedding finger.

Ashley Cole was woken at 04.30 as thieves tried to force entry into the mansion. He called the police who arrived within minutes but the thieves had fled.

The Sun newspaper reported that police were said to be convinced the raiders were after Cheryl's two wedding rings, but it is believed nothing was taken as they didn't manage to get inside the house. Police were said to be investigating a theory that the burglars were informed by a member of Coles' inner circle that he was unlikely to be home.

Cheryl Cole has flown to America following her performance at the Brit Awards last night earlier this week. She was photographed without her wedding ring as she waited for an early morning flight to Los Angeles.

Miss Cole booked the trip last month to write and record new songs and is not escaping the current media interest surrounding her marriage to husband Ashley.

She is away for a week and it will be interesting to see how things fare when she gets back as recent reports now claim that Cheryl has asked friends and family members to refer to her by her maiden name of Tweedy.

She arrived on stage to a standing ovation and the biggest cheer of the night. Staring right into the camera she belted out the very appropriate lyrics “We've got to fight for this love”

After having done both performances of X Factor WITHOUT her wedding ring - an act destined to get tongues weddding - Cheryl Cole was photographed last night with it back in situ for all the world to see.

Leaving the BBC's Maida Vale offices she paired a dressed down look of jeans, shirt, gilet jacket and cap with the humongous rock. The popstar, fashion icon and new Nation's sweetheart took a break from her usual glamorous appearance as she rehearsed with Snow Patrol, with who she will be doing a duet for Children in Need.

The £160,000 wedding ring has been the cause of much speculation and is taken as a reflection of the state of the singer's relationship at any given time. Lately she seems to be sending out more and more mix signals and was recently quoted in ELLE magazine as saying she only really trusted her mum and her dogs.

Review of Cheryl Coles Book - The Unauthorized Biography

For Christmas I got Cheryls Cole Book - The Unauthorized Biography. Ive only just started to read it and a few pages in. So far Im quite enjoying it I have to say.

Im surprised because before she did XFactor, I would have probably returned the book to the store. I really didnt get her and didnt think she was very talented.

But my opinion has changed. I really think X Factor did her justice. I cant be the only person whos opinion has changed. She really stuck up for herself, she choose good girls to compete and she genuingly became their friend and seemed to care. She said what she felt without being rude or arrogant unlike some of the existing and previous judges.

I still dont think she is a good singer, but part of a group, she looks good and after seeing her in the programme which Girls Aloud did - Living their dreams, when she danced in that - she was absolutely amazing.
