The Diamond Store's diamond illusion earrings are set with an invisible setting. This is a variation of the 'pave' which applies only to multi-stone settings and creates a wall effect of diamonds. The invisible setting is different though in that the stones tend to be larger and, rather than being held in place by beads of metal, there is no visible metal securing the diamonds.
They are cut in such a way that allows them to sit securely in a metal framework below the surface, but which cannot be seen. Once the outer metal circumference of the earrings have been pushed inwards this forces the stones to clamp tightly together. The setting is usually used with princess cut diamonds and creates a solid surface of diamonds given the illusion that collectively they are larger than they actually are.
