Ring - or jewellery - resizing is the process of adjusting a piece of jewellery to achieve the perfect fit, either by making it smaller or larger. While resizing is most commonly done for rings, other jewellery like bracelets and necklaces can in some cases be adjusted with a service fee, often by removing or adding links to suit your preferred size.
In most cases, yes. Many of our rings can be resized depending on the design and setting. Classic diamond rings, wedding bands, and engagement rings are often resizable, while certain eternity bands or intricate styles may not be.
Once your ring is returned to us, if resizing isn’t possible, we’ll simply issue you a replacement ring in your desired size. This is the best solution for most orders.
However, if you would prefer to have your original ring resized, usually for sentimental reasons, please let our Customer Service team know when you get in touch. We’ll do everything we can to accommodate this request and keep you updated throughout the process.
Not all wedding bands can be resized. Plain and classic styles can usually be adjusted, while full eternity bands or intricate designs may not allow for resizing. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm the resizing options for your chosen band. If your ring is sent back to us within the exchange/return period, we can usually send you the ring in a different size if resizing is unsuitable for your band.

Eternity rings usually can’t be resized because of their continuous band of diamonds or gemstones, so it’s important to get the size right from the start. If you’re unsure, our team is here to help with sizing advice and to confirm whether your chosen design offers any flexibility. And for extra peace of mind, our exchange policy makes it easy to swap for a different size - so you’ll always end up with the perfect fit.
The Diamond Store accepts returns and exchanges on rings between the sizes of I and S, but rings outside of these sizes cannot be returned as they have been especially sized for your order. Terms and conditions would have been accepted before your order was placed regarding our outsize policy. If you do require an special size ring to be resized we would be able to explore accommodating this with a resize fee. This fee usually starts at £75.
Some bracelets and necklaces can be resized, but we recommend contacting our customer service team for assistance. The timeframe and cost will depend on an assessment conducted after the item is sent back to us. Assessments typically take two weeks, after which you will receive a quote that includes the resizing time required.
We aim to have the new size processed within 3 days for exchange returned within 60 days. However, if your preferred size is out of stock, we will contact you further to advise you on the crafting timescale.
Our current assessment period for returns sent back outside of the 60 day exchange period is 19 days. However, we aim to process all returns and assessment ahead of this time, as quickly as we can. All resize timescales vary depending on the assessment outcome and individual jewellery design and availability of the new size required.
